Support Us

Community Unemployed Help Centre provides assistance to over 1,500 unemployed Manitobans every year. People seek the Centre’s assistance at a vulnerable point in their lives. In most cases, they have lost their job, are living with a disability, or are single parents. Most of our clients have no one else to turn for specialized assistance.

he Centre has been providing people in need with effective service for over thirty-five years. For example, eighty per cent of the appeals that we take on are settled in favour of our clients.

The Centre receives funding from the Province of Manitoba, United Way of Winnipeg, and The Manitoba Law Foundation. These grants are essential to our operation but they do not cover all our costs. Each year the Centre must raise over $50,000 in donations to allow it to continue to provide needed services. Much of our additional funding comes from Manitoba unions and individual supporters.

Community Unemployed Help Centre is a nonprofit, registered charity. We encourage you to consider making a tax-deductible donation that will allow us to continue to make sure that the social-safety net works for the people who need it.
